So how do I sponsor a "dog on a blog"??
Well its really simple... As I said before, I am trying to keep the spotlight on the real stars of the show here, the dogs! So, you are invited to sposor an individual dog from the fast dogs team and follow that dogs training and progress for the season.
For instance, to sposnor a “lead dog” costs $500 for the season and you will be sponsoring an individual dog for that period. (Out of the 4 that I will be running, two are already sponsored) In return for this sponsorship, your business will receive advertising on the dog truck and Fast Dogs blog site with a link to your business web site. On “your dogs” compartment on the dog box and on their dog house in the kennel your business name will appear as that dogs sponsor. Additionally, you will receive "your dogs" harness or fleece coat (freshly washed of course) at the end of the season with a framed print and a short bio of "your dog" thanking you for your sponsorship, to hang in your office, coffee room or home. Your name and company logo will appear in my thank you ad in the Yukon News in late January or early February 2007. Additionally and only at the “Lead dog Level”, you or one of your companies representatives will receive a half day of dog sledding with “your dog” as their leader when you step on the runners. Any other ideas you may have for giving yourself or our company advertising exposure are certainly open for consideration.
A team dog sponsorship will cost you $300 and brings the same level of recognition Framed print, harness or jacket, thank you ad and web site recognition) as the lead dog sponsors and at this level, you will receive a kennel tour and 6 mile ride in a dog sled with" your team dog"... and some of the other Fast Dogs.
Wheel Dog Sponsorship
Not that wheel dogs are any less important than any other dog on the team (in actual fact they often work harder than other dogs on the team), but to try to make this sponsorship program affordable for as many people or companies as possible, sponsoring a wheel dog will cost $200.oo. Sponsoring a wheel dog carries the same recognition as the other two levels of sponsorship, and gives you a one hour dog sled ride...and of course "your wheel dog" will be pulling right in front of you.
A few general notes about sponsoring a dog.
"In kind" donations of needed equipment, supplies or services will definitely be considered at their face value, equally to cash sponsorships with the same level of recognition.
Money raised from sponsorship will contribute to buying needed equipment for the team to make this race a success (ie. dog jackets, booties, fuel for the dog truck and various other items that we need).
Since I won't know till mid January if I will have enough training miles and conditioning on the dogs, (Remember, its all about the dogs and their care, I won't show up at the start line if I don't think the dogs can do it safely). However, I will post your sponsorship as soon as I get confirmation that you want to sponsor a dog, but won't ask you to send any money or in kind sponsorship till Mid January when I am certain that the training and preperation is sufficient. In that way you get maximum exposure with minimum risk!!
You can pick your dog from the team...first come first serve, however, out of 18 dogs that are running, only 12 can go, so if you pick a dog tht doesn't make the team, no problem, you can switch dogs!!
More info?? I would be glad to discuss the dogs, dog sledding, the Quest 300, any other dog race...oh yes and sponsoring a dog on a blog with you. Please e-mail me at:
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Happy training Sean ...and the team!!
